Cowichan Lake has many diverse and unique areas that offer a wide variety of recreational opportunities. On this particular trip in March 2001, I was looking for fossils West of Gordon Bay.

When heading into the backcountry areas, please remember that logging trucks have inertia and mass on their side and stop only for lunch and fuel. Drive with your headlights on and park only in areas well off of the road.
