Fanny Bay beach is scattered with heaps of oyster shells. The former cable-laying vessel, the "Brico" is beached near here, and has been converted to a restaurant.

Just north, the Buckley Bay Road turnoff leads to the Denman Island Ferry. From Denman, a second ferry connects to Hornby Island.
