Goldmine Trail leads from the highway to the beach where gold mining took place during the early years of the 1900s. The placer operations didn't last long, and a few years after discovery, everyone left the area. During the depression a few miners returned to salvage what gold remained. Some rusted mining machinery may be seen at the end of the trail.
