Entering the forest towards the Coast Trail
Langford Lake

The Ed Nixon Trail is part of an extensive Langford Trail Network. The first portion of the trail crosses a thriving seasonal marsh on a marvelous wooden trestle. When you reach the northern edge of the lake, the trail continues as a gravel path which makes for pleasant walking through the forest's edge.

Rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and small mouth bass are only some of the stocked fish that thrive in Langford Lake. If fishing isn't your forte, then pack a lunch, your binoculars, and your camera and enjoy an afternoon observing the abundant waterfowl such as elegant ring-neck ducks and red-breasted mergansers.

The trail is well-marked and perfect for family hikes or gently rolling bike rides. Remember to keep to the trail and respect the wildlife sharing this natural green space. Enjoy your visit to one of Langford's best-kept secrets!
