Mid Vancouver Island
Vancouver Island between Nanaimo and Courtenay, is home to some of British Columbia's most rugged and beautiful scenery.

The West and East Coasts are remarkably diverse in terms of geology, and offer a visual insight into Vancouver Island's volcanic and earthquake history.

All destinations in this section should be considered overnight or extended all day trips when your point of departure is Victoria.

Getting around
Most of the destinations in this section are located a relatively short distance from the Trans Canada highway or a major highway and are easily acessable by car. The Backroad Mapbook or a 1:400,000 map of Vancouver Island are essential tools to carry with you unless your are familiar with Vancouver Island.
