Sothern Gulf Islands
The Gulf Islands are normally divided into northern and southern sections, the southern group consists of 11 major islands ( North to South: Gabriola, Valdes, Thetis, Kuper, Galiano, Saltspring (Salt Spring), Prevost, Mayne, North and South Pender and Saturna) plus several smaller islands.
The southern Gulf Islands and the San Juan Islands to the south are part of the same archipeligo, despite the national boundary |

Getting around
Most of the destinations in this section are located a relatively short distance from the Trans Canada highway or a major highway and are easily acessable by car. The Backroad Mapbook or a 1:400,000 map of Vancouver Island are essential tools to carry with you unless your are familiar with Vancouver Island. |
