Getting around
Most of the destinations in this section are located a relatively short distance from highway 19/19A and are easily acessable by car. They are overnight or extended trips when departing from Victoria. The Backroad Mapbook or a 1:400,000 map of Vancouver Island are essential tools to carry, along with emergency food, water and shelter.

The weather can change rapidly in this area, always carry a change of clothes and plan on being wet and cold at some point, even in the summer season.
